On Saturday, the Tennessee Titans will visit the New England Patriots for a playoff game. The Patriots are, of course, the defending Super Bowl champions and the odds-on favorite to win it again this year.
But all this success hasn’t stopped Tom Brady from obsessing about the 2008 Super Bowl game the Patriots lost to the Giants.
In a documentary about Brady called Tom vs. Time, there’s a scene of Brady studying film of the game that ruined the team’s perfect season, calling it an example of “becoming a failure in front of everybody.”
The guy has five Super Bowl rings and might get a sixth this year. He’s married to a supermodel. But he can talk about himself as a failure. He’s obsessed about that shocking loss -- and probably will be for the rest of his life. (The New York Times)
